My AP 2D Portfolio
This portfolio was created during the year 2022-2023, my junior year of high school, when I took AP 2D design. The concentration of this portfolio is about learning to fly while struggling with my dyslexia. The dyslexia is shown through the profile of the main character Kiwi, who has a birth defect and is not able to fly. Throughout his journey, he discovers more about himself and his strengths and is eventually able to learn how to fly with a bit of help.

Art Medium: Ink & Scratch Art on Plexiglass. Project #1: "Stuck" is the 1st piece in the collection, it depicts the birth of Kiwi. This artwork is the beginning of Kiwi's life, where breaking out of his shell is just the first of many obstacles he will face. Similarly, it also represents my struggle with dyslexia during my childhood, a condition that made me feel different and uncertain about myself.

Art Medium: Faux stained glass window, created with puff paint and acrylic on glass. Project #2: "Preparing to take flight." This artwork captures the moments when a young Kiwi is preparing to take his first flight, representing the beginning of a Kiwi's journey to find himself. This moment of courage and determination also serves as a powerful metaphor for my experience with dyslexia. As I began to learn more about dyslexia that I had, I gained the courage to face it head-on and navigate the obstacles that it presented.

Art Medium: Acrylic Paint on four layers of plexiglass. Project #3: Attempt #1: This artwork depicts Kiwi at a young age taking his first flight symbolizing the bright future he has ahead. Similar to my journey, with dyslexia when I did not know the obstacles that were ahead of me.
